DAY 1
Arrival in Tanzania – Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you are warmly welcomed by your private Hey Safaris guide and transferred to Arusha. Set at the foot of Mount Meru, Arusha is a lively yet relaxed town that serves as the gateway to Northern Tanzania’s safari circuit. The surrounding landscapes of coffee plantations and forested hills offer a gentle introduction to the country.
Spend the remainder of the day at leisure, resting after your journey or enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of your lodge in preparation for the safari ahead.

Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you travel to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most underrated wildlife destinations. The park is characterised by rolling savannahs, towering baobab trees, and the life-giving Tarangire River, which becomes a magnet for wildlife during the dry season.
Tarangire is particularly famous for its large elephant herds, often seen moving through the landscape in impressive numbers. Game drives are relaxed and scenic, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife photography and quiet observation.

Serengeti National Park (Central)
Today you travel into the heart of the Serengeti, where the horizon stretches endlessly and wildlife roams freely across the plains. As you enter the park, game viewing begins immediately, offering your first taste of this iconic ecosystem.
The Central Serengeti is alive with activity year-round and is especially renowned for its predators, making every drive full of anticipation and discovery.

Northern Serengeti – Mara River Region
Spend two full days in the Northern Serengeti, best known for the Mara River and its role in the Great Migration. Depending on the season, this area offers the chance to witness thousands of wildebeest and zebra gathering at the riverbanks, with dramatic crossings sometimes unfolding.
Beyond the migration, the region is rich in resident wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, and large herds of buffalo. The open landscapes and quieter atmosphere allow for immersive, unhurried game drives.

DAY 6
Serengeti National Park (Central)
You continue south to the Central Serengeti, the heart of the park and one of Africa’s most productive wildlife areas. With permanent water sources and expansive plains, this region supports an incredible diversity of animals throughout the year.
The Central Serengeti is particularly known for its large predator populations, including lions and leopards, often seen resting on rocky kopjes or stalking prey across the plains.

Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a vast volcanic caldera that shelters an extraordinary concentration of wildlife within its walls.
The crater floor is home to the Big Five, as well as flamingos, hippos, and numerous plains animals, making it one of the best places in Tanzania for game viewing in a single day. After your crater tour, you continue to your lodge on the crater rim.

Departure day
After breakfast, you are transferred back to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight. As you depart, take with you memories of Tanzania’s diverse landscapes, remarkable wildlife, and unforgettable safari experiences.
