Best Time to Visit

Tanzania offers excellent wildlife viewing throughout the year. The best time depends on what you’d like to experience, including the Great Migration, calving season or fewer crowds.

The Great Migration moves throughout the Serengeti year-round. River crossings usually occur between July and October, while calving season takes place from January to March.

Depending on your itinerary, you may see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles, hyenas, leopards and hundreds of bird species.
